If I need to travel out of town, can my caregiver go with me?
Yes, but this does need to be arranged in advance as it may impact on your staff's roster. For health and safety reasons please inform the Area Supervisor if you are going to travel out of town.

Who pays for caregiver food and accommodation and entry fees when they travel out of town with me?
If you are taking a caregiver with you on holiday it would be expected that you pay for their meal, travel, accommodation and entry fee costs. you may want to determine a daily amount you are willing to pay for them in consultation with the Agency.

What happens to my caregivers if I go on holiday or into hospital without them?
The Agency will pay a one off retainer of a week per annum to caregivers if you go into hospital or on holiday. Over and above this they will need to take annual leave, unpaid leave or be redeployed.

Can the caregivers provide my care while I am in hospital?
No. ACC already bulk fund DHB's (District Health Boards) to be able to provide your care. On occasion, the DHB will request and fund the Agency to provide care for you whilst you are a patient.
